Could you please help me find articles on tolerance and its role in a pluralistic society?
Thank you for your research question about how tolerance is necessary in a pluralistic society.
If we agree that that a pluralistic society is a society that is based on the concept that one group is not in power over another group and that groups must work together for the common good, then it is easy to see how tolerance is absolutely necessary for any pluralist society to succeed.
As to how you will be able to research it, that is going to depend on what types of tolerance you wish to discuss. Some suggestions would be: sex, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual-identity, class, religion, disabilities, age, etc.
To find books, check the Book Catalog for both print and ebooks on pluralism.
To find articles, start at the library homepage, select the "Social Sciences/Social Issues/Human Services" section and then select from the databases such as Academic OneFile, Diversity Studies Collection, and OmniFile.
