I have an APA question. Within the paper I'm writing, I have to put the title of a journal article and of a book. Are each italicized or in quotes?
On your references page, the title of a book is italicized. With a journal citation, the title of a journal article is not italicized; instead, the title of the journal itself is what gets put in italics.
For your in-text citaiton, neither would be italicized.
If you mention the name of an article, in the body of your paper, you should put it in quotation marks, but on your references page it should not have quotation marks. Also, if you mention a book or magazine title outside a citation in the body of your paper, then it should be italicized.
