How do I cite an article cited in my textbook? Do I use "as cited in"?
Thank you for your question about citing a source within a source.
For your in-text citation, use the author of the original article, then, in parentheses, the phrase "as cited in" then the author and year of the textbook.
Let's say the author of the article is Smith and the author of your textbook is Jones and it was published in 2011. You would do something like this example:

If the article has no author, use the article title in quotation marks. If it is an exact quote, also include the page number in your textbook where you got the quote.
On your References page, you will cite only your textbook.
