What is the turnaround time for receiving materials requested via Interlibrary Loan?
Requests will normally be processed within one business day. Materials will be supplied as and when the lending library supplies us. This could be anywhere from 2-7 business days. Articles may arrive more quickly than the books. It is important to specify the prefer by and need by dates in the request, so that the campus librarians could watch out for your materials and alert you if there is a possible delay.
Campus students: Check with the campus library often to get an updated status.
Online students: Librarians will notify you of the status of your requests as soon as they are processed and give you an approximate date for receiving the materials. You will be alerted if there may be a delay. You may also contact the Online Librarians for an updated status.
Before submitting an ILL (Interlibrary Loan) request, ensure that you have exhausted all the options with Baker library resources. Request materials from other libraries only when it absolutely necessary. Better consult a librarian before submitting ILL requests. We may be able to show you ways to get to information right away with no waiting period!!
