Can ibid. and op. cit. be used in APA 6 writing style? There is nothing related to this in the APA 6 manual.
ibid and op. cit are used only when endnotes and footnotes are added to refer to the source within the text. Since APA formatting mandates referring to the source in-text in the form of parenthetical references, ibid and/or op. cit. notations are not used.
When listing the author second time within a paragraph, just use the name; year not necessary. Upon starting a new paragraph, if using the same source show both author and year in the in-text citation.
