If I want to use different parts of a website, do I create a citation for each part?
It depends on the website and the parts of the website you are using. Does your website have seperate authors per section? Are the pages hard to navigate to from the homepage? Is the website particularily large? If you answered yes to these questions, then you may need a citation for each page you used.
Often, you would have just one entry on your Reference page for a website.
Here are some common websites that need separate citations:
- documents, etc.
Most other websites can have one citation to cover the whole website.
You want to use whatever method makes it easier to find the citation on the reference page, and then, since it will most likely have a different URL, easier to check the reference.
For information on how to cite a website, see the Baker APA Help guide.
Please contact your campus librarians if you need further help.
