Where can I find information for my 1950s ad paper?
If you are looking for information on to do your Ad Analysis paper on an ad from the 1950s, you first have to decide what cultural aspects of the 50s you are going to discuss in your paper. Without seeing your ad, I can only make some broad suggestions, such as:
- Cold War
- Rock and Roll
- gender roles
You can also search for historical information on your time period to get an idea of the background behind your ad. So you would search either "1950s" or "nineteen fifties".
Your topic is a historical topic. Your best bet is to find information in books and encyclopedias, as well as our history databases.
To find books or e-books, check the Online Catalog.
To find articles, check the databases below. To get to the Find Articles and Databases page, start at the Library Home Page and click on History/Geography/World Culture. If you are off-campus you will need to use your 14 digit Library Card number, which can be found on your ID Card or on the Login Assistance page in MyBaker.
