Thank you for your question about locating magazine articles in the library.

The first thing you will need to do is find out if the library owns either digital access or print copies of the magazine you want. To do this, go to the library's homepage and click on E-Journals A-Z.

In "E-Journals A-Z", you can search for the title of any publication to see if Baker owns it in digital or print form. Leave the default choices as they are, and type in the name of the magazine you are searching for NOT the title of the article. Then run your search. The results will tell you if we own it or not. (Note: if you do not get any results, you may want to double check your spelling as the search will only find the exact words you type in.)

When looking at the results, you may see links to one or several databases under the magazine title. You can click on these links to navigate to the database which houses access to that magazine or journal and you may be able to find a digital copy without having to come to the library. If you see a result that says "Baker Print Collection", that means that there is at least one Baker campus which owns some physical copies of the magazine. Click on the link to be directed to the entry in Baker's book catalog. When you look at the record, you will see that campuses are listed by code. "BK" stands for "Baker" and the letter(s) after it tell you which campus. (Ex: CT = Clinton Twp, F = Flint, AP= Allen Park). You can see if your campus owns the magazine and what years they hold. If you campus DOES own it, you can visit your campus and ask the library staff to show you to the magazine section. If your campus does not own it, contact your Campus Librarian and she or he will find you a copy of the article.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact your Campus Librarian. Thank you for using ASK US.
