Q. How would I show the page number for a direct quote from an HTML document?

Answer

For a direct APA quotation, use a page number if there is one:

Quotation: (Murphy, 2016, p. 599)

If there is not a page number, use a paragraph number:

Smith (2016) affirms "........." (para. 1).

If the document includes section headings, include the heading and para number:

Smith (2016) also indicates "......" (Discussion Section, para. 2).

When the document does not show headings, use the first part of the paragraph used:

Smith (2016) further argues "....." ("Global Warming", para. 1).
