Q. Can you help me find information about Urban Farming in Detroit?

Thank you for your question about Urban Farming in Detroit.

The first place you may want to begin your search is at the Library's ResearchGuide Detroit. (You can get here by visiting the library's hompage and clicking on Research Guides. Then, under the "Guides for Special Topics", select Detroit).

This page will give you some suggestions on places to look for information about Detroit. You can run searches in the Book Catalog, or databases (such as  General OneFile) for "Urban Farming" and Detroit. (You will want to always put "urban farming" in quotation marks so that the computer returns the correct results.)

However, you may need to broaden your search. To do this, you would run searches for "Urban Farming" and leave out the Detroit part. Learning about what other cities do for urban farming can help you write your research paper by showing what Detroit should or shouldn't do to learn from other cities.
