Q. Does the Library have textbooks for the current courses that I can borrow?

Thank you for your question about borrowing books for classes from the library.

The answer to your question is: Sometimes.

Different campuses have different books and different faculty members. The library generally does not purchase textbooks for the collection, but it does accept donations from students or faculty. So if a textbook has been donated to the library, it could be available. Also, some instructors will put a copy of their class' textbook "On Reserve" at the library. In either situation, the books are generally for in library use and not to be checked out (although there are always exceptions).

To see if one of your textbooks is available at the library, you will need to check Baker's Book Catalog. You can run a search for the title, or, if you click on "Power Search", you can run a search for the ISBN. If there is a copy at any Baker library, you will get a result. If there is a copy at a different Baker campus than your own that is available to be checked out, you should click on "Place Hold" to have the book sent to your campus for you.

If you need further assistance, please contact your Campus Library/ARC.
