Q. Where can I find an article about African-American medical beliefs?
A good place to start search for information on this topic will be the Medical databases, which are found on the Find Articles and Databases page.
To get to the Find Articles and Databases page, start at the Library Home Page (http://guides.baker.edu/onlineresources), click on Find Articles & Databases, and click on Books/eBooks. If you are off-campus you will need to use your 14 digit Library Card number (barcode), which can be found on your ID Card or in SOLAR. The following databases would be good places to start searching.
- Health Reference Center Academic (InfoTrac)
- Nursing and Allied Health Source (ProQuest)
- Health & Wellness Resource Center (Gale)
Starting off using a few different keyword search combinations such as "african americans" and "medical beliefs", "african americans" and "health beliefs", & "african americans" and "attitudes towards health" . Watch for "limit search by" and "related subjects" when you do find an article. This may lead to other articles on your topic.
