Q. Can you help me find a peer-reviewed journal regarding the ethical debate on abortion?

Answer

Thank you for your question about abortion resources.

For books or ebooks, check the Book Catalog. To get to the book catalog, start at the Library Home Page (http://guides.baker.edu/onlineresources), and click on Find Books.

For articles, check the databases below. To get to the Find Articles and Databases page, start at the Library Home Page (http://guides.baker.edu/onlineresources), click on Find Articles & Databases, and click on Psychology. If you are off-campus you will need to use your 14 digit Library Card number, which can be found on your ID Card or in SOLAR. The following databases would be good places to start looking for information on this topic:

Think about what specifically you want to discuss and try several different search strategies.  Here are some examples:

  • Abortion and ethical aspects
  • Abortion and psychological aspects
  • Abortion and social aspects
  • Abortion laws
  • Reproductive rights

Academic OneFile automatically shows you articles from the "Academic Journals" category first, but you can also check a box that limits to "peer-reviewed publications". The Gender Studies Collection (Infotrac) and ProQuest Psychology Journals also have a "peer-reviewed publications" box you can check when conducting your search.

Thank you for using ASK US. For more information contact your campus librarians.
