Q. What do I do when I receive a book that is damaged?
Answer
If a book is damaged when you receive it, check if there is a note in the book. Normally, if the library is aware of the damage there will be a note to alert the borrower. A note will also be added in the book record in the catalog to alert other librarians not to charge you a damage fee.
If there is no note in the book, call your campus librarian right away. Librarian will add a note in the book record in the catalog. When you return the book and we check it in, System will alert us about the damage. We will know then that we should not charge you for the damage.
