Q. Where can I find a self help book?

To find a self-help book, search the book catalog. You will want to look for terms like: healing, life skills guides, psychology, self-actualization, self care, self-esteem, self-help groups, self-help techniques, stress management, and success

If a book is not available at your home campus, you can click on Place Hold. You will need your 14-digit library barcode number to place a hold. You can find this number on your ID card or under your Contact Information in SOLAR.

For eBooks, you will want to search EBSCOhost. To access EBSCOhost, you begin from the library's Online Resource page and under the "Books/eBooks" heading, you can click on eBooks on EBSCOhost. From here you can run a search for "self-help" and/or the topic which you are interested in such as "drug abuse" or "hypnosis". You will also need your 14-digit library card number to access this ebook database.

You may also contact your campus librarians for further help.
