Q. What are participation requirements?

Thank you for your question about participation requirements for class.

Online classes: Participation requirement in an Online Class means your participation in the discussions on Blackboard. Instructors will decide on the number of posts and perhaps the length of posts.

  • The attendance policy can be found on page 31 of the Student Handbook.
  • For online courses, attendance is automatically recorded on a daily basis.
  • Attendance is defined as submission of any of the following within Blackboard during the seminar week: • Wiki, blog, or journal assignment • Assignment submission to an assignment link • Discussion Board post

On-ground classes: Your instructor should list all of your required assignments and projects in the syllabus. If your class has something called "participation requirements" it should be outlined in the class documents or you can ask your instructor.
