What are the CARRDSS and BASIC methods?

CARRDSS and BASIC are methods used to evaluate information.
CARRDSS Method to Evaluate Sources:
- C redibility: Who is the author? What are his/her credentials? Is he/she qualified to write on this topic?
- A ccuracy: Can the information be verified? Is it grammatically correct? Are there any spelling errors?
- R eliability: Does the source present a bias or particular point of view? Is the page associated with a reputable organization?
- R elevance: Does the information support my hypothesis or answer my question?
- D ate: When was this information created or last revised?
- S ources: Are credible reliable sources used by the author?
- S cope: Is the information comprehensive or scholarly?
BASIC is designed to evaluate websites for:
- Content
- Authority/Reliability
- Bias/Purpose
- Usability/Design
