CARRDSS is an acronym used to help remember important steps in the process of evaluating information.
CARRDSS Method to Evaluate Sources:
C redibility: Who is the author? What are his/her credentials? Is he/she qualified to write on this topic?
A ccuracy: Can the information be verified? Is it grammatically correct? Are there any spelling errors?
R eliability: Does the source present a bias or particular point of view? Is the page associated with a reputable organization?
R elevance: Does the information support my hypothesis or answer my question?
D ate: when was this information created or last revised?
S ources: Are credible reliable sources used by the author?
S cope: Is the information comprehensive or too scholarly?
