Should a journal on the Internet ask me to pay for the articles?

Answer

No, the databases should not ask you to pay for the articles from the Library Resources when you are signed in with your Library Card #.  These articles are available at no charge while you are a Baker College student.

Journals on the internet sometimes ask for a subscription fee, but not the ones on the Baker Library site when you are a student.

Before you hit the search button in any of the databases, make sure that the "full-text" checkbox is selected; this way, all of your results will be available immediately online.

If you need a particular article and the full text is not available, you may request that the library obtain it for you for free.  This process can take up to ten days to complete, so if you choose this option, be sure to leave yourself enough time to receive the material.
