Q. Do I include 'Jr.' after the author's name on the reference page?

Answer

Here are the directions for including author's name suffixes:

  • References page: the suffix would be included and would follow the first name initials.
  • In-text citations: Jr. or the III, or other name suffixes are not included with in-text citations.

Example from the APA Blog:

Jones, H. W., Jr., & Jones, H. W., Sr. (2019). Title of book in italics. City, ST: Publisher.
