Is retrieval date information needed for electronic resources cited on the Reference page?

Reference page entries include "retrieved from" information, is the retrieval date required anymore?

Answer

No, according to the APA Publication Manual, do not include retrieval dates.

  • An exception is if the source material changes over time.
  • Examples of this include wikis or blogs.
  • Visit the APA Help page to see examples of citations.
