How many spaces after a period?

Answer

According to the APA Style page:

  • Use one space after a period when writing in APA Style.
  • However, if your Instructor requests 2 spaces, follow their specifications.

The Chicago Manual of Style and the Modern Language Association (MLA) both recommend using one space after a period at the end of a sentence.
