Q. How do you cite and reference a source when you have a live interview with them?
Answer
To cite a personal interview:
- The interview is cited in-text only.
- It is not included on the References page.
- This is because the reader is not able to retrieve the interview information as with a book, article or website.
Compose an in-text citation for the interview using the following format:
First Initial and Last Name (personal communication, Month Date, year).
Example:
R. Jones (personal communication, June 29, 2019).
