Q. Why can I not access the e-books?
Thank you for your question about accessing e-books. The problem could be one of many things. Here are some suggestions, but if none of these things work, please call your Campus Librarians so they can troubleshoot your technical issue with you.
1) Some ebooks only let one person read it at a time. We have several different ebook vendors and they all have different rules about access. If this is your case, check back in a while and maybe the other person will be done with the ebook.
2) Sometimes you need to clear your cache and cookies for your internet browser. Occasionally, something in your cache or cookies will prevent users from being able to access an ebook.
3) Make sure you are using your Library Card number to log in to the ebook database. It is 14-digits long and begins 23504... It can be found on the back of your ID card.
4) Try accessing the ebook from the ebook database directly. First you will have to figure out which vendor it is (there should be some clue on the book's record. Look for something like EBL or EBSCO or MyiLibrary when you search for the title of the book in the Book Catalog). Then go to the Online Resources Page. Click on Books/eBooks. Select the database that looks right.
